England and Wales ITP Support Group Meeting 25th November 2021

Remember, issues with tiredness and fatigue are very debilitating. These can be discussed with your clinician and it is necessary to find ways to deal with these effects. Keep a diary of how you are, and work out how you can do small activities interspersed with rest. One thing to mention about “alternative medicines”. Many people have asked us about things like aloe vera juice or papaya leaf extract to help platelet count. Avoid these things, there is NO evidence whatsoever to suggest they will help platelet counts and may well cause more harm than good. Sadly, such things are no more than wishful thinking so AVOID.
