Professor Adrian Newland – Chair and Trustee

We are honoured to introduce Professor Adrian Newland, the Chair of the ITP Support Association. He is a Professor of Haematology and a leading expert in immune thrombocytopenia, hosting the only tertiary referral centre for ITP in the UK. Professor Newland has been a dedicated medical advisor to the Association since its early days, having supported our founder, Shirley Watson MBE, in the mid-90s. He is a strong believer in the importance of involving patients in their care. His expertise and passion for research, novel treatments, and patient support have been invaluable to our mission. He has published extensively on ITP and was instrumental in developing the national ITP Clinical Forum. We are incredibly grateful for his leadership and commitment to improving the lives of those affected by ITP.
