ITP Convention 2018 - Roundup
We recently held our Annual ITP Patients Convention, this time, following requests from members we took the Convention to the beautiful City of Chester and its historic racecourse in the North West of the Country.
The event was well attended and was supported by some brilliant speakers including some old friends of the Association, Dr Paula Bolton-Maggs and from New York USA Dr Cindy Neunert. A big thankyou to everyone who attended and supported this event. We would also like to thank the sponsors of the UK Convention, Novartis, Amgen, Principia and Rigel, without their support the Convention would not have been possible.
On the same day as the UK Patient Convention we also hosted the ITP International Alliance meeting which is organised jointly by the UK ITP Support Association and our friends from across the pond the Platelet Disorder Support Association (PDSA for short). The International meeting was attended by patient organisations from across the globe, in addition to the UK and USA representatives we also had patient groups representatives from Brazil, India, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. Putting on an international meeting of this scale is an enormous undertaking and we would like to thank the following Pharma Companies who supported this worthwhile event, Principia, Argenx and Rigel, without whose help the International Meeting would not have been possible.
You can read more about the Convention and the International meeting in an article written by the Vice Chair of the ITP Support Association Derek Elston which will be published in the December edition of the Platelet.
