There is a wonderful video on the ITP Support Association You Tube Channel of a presentation by John Semple to our annual convention earlier this year. It explains in very easy to understand language WHY ITP OCCURS. Thoroughly recommended.

Another excellent video that folk may wish to check out about ITP and bleeding is on the ITP Support Association You Tube Channel. Again, it was from a presentation to our annual convention earlier this year by Dr Nichola Cooper on bleeding in ITP. Well worth a watch.

One thing to mention about “alternative medicines”. Many people have asked us about things like aloe vera juice or papaya leaf extract to help platelet count. Avoid these things, there is NO evidence whatsoever to suggest they will help platelet counts and may well cause more harm than good. Sadly, such things are no more than wishful thinking so AVOID.
